Billing and Pricing
Agent.ceo uses a simple pay-per-use model based on agent-hours. This guide explains the pricing tiers, billing mechanics, and how to control costs.
Pricing Tiers
| Tier | Price | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 (100 agent-hours/month, 3 agents) | Evaluation and small projects |
| SaaS Prepaid | $1.00/agent-hour | Teams that want pay-as-you-go flexibility |
| SaaS Enterprise | $1.50/agent-hour | Organizations needing SLAs and priority support |
| Self-Hosted | Custom annual license | Full data sovereignty requirements |
All paid tiers include a 50% discount for open-source and education organizations.
How Metering Works
An agent-hour is one hour of active agent compute time. The meter runs only when an agent is actively working — idle time is not billed.
Usage is tracked per organization and visible in real time from the dashboard billing page.
Prepaid Deposit Model
SaaS plans use a prepaid deposit model:
- Add funds to your organization balance
- Agents consume from the balance as they work
- Top up when the balance runs low
- Set low-balance alerts to avoid interruptions
No commitments, no minimum spend. Your balance carries forward indefinitely.
Cost Controls
Agent.ceo provides several mechanisms to control spending:
- Budget limits — Set a maximum monthly spend per organization
- Agent limits — Cap the number of concurrent agents
- Usage alerts — Get notified at configurable spending thresholds
- Auto-pause — Automatically pause agents when the budget is exhausted
Knowledge Base Storage
Knowledge base storage is included with all plans at no additional cost:
- Global Knowledge Bases — Shared across the organization, included with all plans
- Private Knowledge Bases — Tenant-isolated with granular access controls, included with all plans
